3 Christmases

If that is even how you spell it. We have had a busy 2 days. We went to the Lawyer's to do Christmas with them on Christmas Eve since Jeremy and Brandi were heading to her parents today out of town.

We had a great time and the boys loved their gifts.

This morning we got up early and headed to the Kenney's and did Christmas there then left about lunch time to come home to do ours here. My parents came out to watch the boys do theirs since they didn't have anyone at home today.

We have had a fun and exhausting day, probably mostly exhausting for me since I have little one inside me. We are so excited to think of next year with a 5 1/2 and 3 year old and a precious 6 mo. old!

God has been so faithful and good to us this year and I know that He will continue to amaze us in 2010.

So now we wait for January 25 when we find out if we will have a Caden Bryant or Harleigh Faith!!!!

Basketball

Cooper has started playing basketball for church. This is his favorite sport and has been I think since before he could walk. He has waited years to play and finally has the chance.

Last Saturday was his first game and he loved it! He scored 2 points and was just thrilled to be out on the court.

Yesterday when he woke up and was getting dressed for his game he told me he was going to score 20 points and dunk it. I said, we'll see about that.

Before I go into the next part, I was the only one at the game. Colton had a fever, so Jon said he would stay home with him and no one else from our families were there. I didn't have the video camera b/c it wasn't working so....

Cooper scored 28 points!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It was incredible! I love watching him play and it just makes me so happy to see him in his element and loving every minute of it! Basketball was a huge part of my life growing up and I am excited to get to watch my son enjoy it as well!

What a great kid! Wish I could post some pics.

Happy 2nd Birthday Colton!

Today you turn 2 years old. I cannot believe how fast time has flown! I remember when you had such bad reflux and we just couldn't wait for it to get better, it did feel like it took forever at the time but it really flew by.

You have grown up so much and we are so proud of you. You love to do everything Cooper does but when he is gone to school you love all the attention. I can't wait to see you as a big brother!

You have brought us so much joy with that adorable smile of yours!! We love you and are honored to be your parents!

My picture thing still won't work, maybe one day I can put pics on here!

Thankful Thursday

I know sometimes I forget all that I have to be thankful for and focus on the negative so today I thought I would write a few things that I am extremely grateful for...

* my God who is so faithful to me
* a house with working heat for my family
* 2 working cars even though one doesn't have heat, they both work!
* a son who is doing awesome in school
* a son who is growing like a weed at home
* a precious baby growing in my belly, come on Jan.25! We want to know who you are!
* an incredible church that we get to serve along an amazing staff
* A HUSBAND WHO IS THE MOST AMAZING MAN THAT GOD BLESSED ME WITH, I COULDN'T DO LIFE WITHOUT HIM!!!

I know there are probably thousands more but that is good for now.

Colton's 2nd Birthday!

My baby will be 2 years old December 17th but due to the craziness of December with everyone having so much to do we decided this year to go ahead and have his party today. It worked out great! We might try and do it the Saturday after Thanksgiving every year.

I cannot believe that he is getting so old. Feels like yesterday that we were bringing him home from the hospital.

My blog is messing up since I changed backgrounds and won't let me upload and pics but once I figure it out I will put some on here.

Second Thanksgiving

Well Friday morning we headed to Cordova again for our second Thanksgiving at the Kenney's. Jon's brother, Daniel, moved to Nashville back in March and none of us had seen him since so it was GREAT to spend time with "Uncle Daniel" and get to catch up.

We played card games and catchphrase. We had fun and when lunch was almost ready the element in the oven caught on fire! As we hurried to get all the cooked food out the back door others decided what needed to be done, do we call the fire dept or do we use the fire extinguisher?!??!

After getting everything out of the way, Sarah pulled the pin and sprayed the fire. Nothing...did it again....Nothing. They then decided to just close the oven door to cut off the oxygen to the fire. Smart. The fire died...but the kitchen was covered in dust from the smoke and fire extinguisher.

So we ate our lunch outside on the patio table. Nothing like a quick change of plans but it was alot of fun and we definately made memories that will last!

Here are a few pics of the day...

First Thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving!!! We had a wonderful day today and we are very excited about tomorrow. For the last 6 years Jon and I have been hitting both parents houses for Thanksgiving all in one day. It was very exhausting, even more so once we threw kids into the mix. But this year we decided to do the Lawyer's today and the Kenney's on Friday.

It was so nice to just relax with family and not be in a rush to get to the other house. We are so excited about spending the day with Jon's family tomorrow!

Hard to believe that this is our last Thanksgiving with just Coop and Colt. We are excited to see our family at this time next year with 3 kiddos!!! :)

Here are a few pictures of Thanksgiving at the Lawyer's...we took our dogs, Griz and Donut, with us and they tried to make it in a few pics!

In random order...ENJOY!

Doing Well

I dont remember what happened day 4 and so on but we are into our second week and he is doing awesome! I am glad that diapers are gone for at least 7 months! :)

Colton and I are enjoying a rainy Monday by staying in our pjs and taking naps!

We are excited that Cooper is out of school all next week and we get him for 9 days! I am sure by the end of the 9 days I will be ready for him to go back b/c he is a bundle of energy 24/7. And he LOVES school, I mean LOVES school! His teachers are wonderful and we couldn't have asked for a better first year!

Not much going on this week but that is a good thing b/c next week is crazy with Thanksgiving. We love getting to hang out with both of our families and this year for the first time we are doing them on different days so we can spend more time with each one!

We have so much to be thankful for and today I am thankful to be expecting our 3rd baby. Didn't know if this would ever happen or when it would happen but we are extremely happy and even though I am sick, I am thankful that our baby is growing!

Day 3

Well today wasn't one of our better days at the Kenney household.

Potty training while having morning sickness ALL day can turn out to not be enjoyable by anyone.

Colton did have a good day, only 2 accidents all day but was very stubborn through most of it.

Hoping Day 4 brings a good day for everyone!!

Day 2

Well here we are 2 days into this and Colton is doing Amazing!!!

I went shopping with my mom today and my WONDERFUL husband stayed with Colton and sat by the potty most of the day but I think they had fun.

I was very nervous about taking him to church tonight but I packed a bag with 3 sets of clothes in case he just didn't go for it.

I went to his class and HE WAS IN THE SAME CLOTHES I BROUGHT HIM IN!!!!!!!

He went potty twice with his teacher. He loves those ladies and they do an incredible job with our kiddos.

So Day 2 is a success!!! I am so impressed with how well he is doing! He is just growing up too fast!

He's Doing It!

Well after he woke up from his nap he went on the potty for the first time!!!

He was so excited and I sure did make a big deal out of it!

Praying the rest of the week gets better and better! I will update again tomorrow on our progress.

Potty Training Day 1

Am I crazy?!?!?

My son went to the bathroom yesterday in his diaper and then came right over to me and told me what he did, then laid down for me to change him...

So we started potty training in full swing today. He has yet to go in the potty but has definately found other places to go.

He looks so old sitting on the potty and I am praying that we will soon have a break through. Its only 12:30 so we shall see what the rest of the day brings!

Its Positive

On the morning of October 13, 2009 I took a test that will change our lives, for the better. And when we saw the positive result Jon and I were so excited.

We are going to be having another baby!!!

We went to the doctor yesterday and got to see our little bean and we saw the heart beating and I asked at what week were we able to hear it, I don't remember with the boys, and she said we are going to try and listen now! She clicked on it and there we heard the most precious sound of our baby's heart beating away.

We are excited to welcome our new addition by June 23, 2010.

Cooper's vote is out for a baby sister but we will take what the Lord gives us!

NASCAR

A family at our church was kind enough to give us 2 free tickets to the Nascar race that came to town today. Jon and Coop headed out to experience their first race together. Jon sent me a few text messages saying Cooper was having a blast! They got home and Coop was still grinning ear to ear. He LOVED it and I think that they will be going together every year!!! Jon has some pics of the day on his iphone so once we get them off I can put some up.

Soccer Star

Last night at Cooper's soccer game he scored 5 goals!!!!!!!!!!!
We are so proud of him and I think that me and my dad were the loudest ones cheering for him :)

I will post pics of him in action very soon! Gooo Coop!!!!

Cool Weather

Well I am happy to say that it finally feels like fall. This week the highs are in the 70's and I am loving it!!! Cooper has his fall break next week and hopefully we will have great weather to just spend all day outside!

Did I say that I love this weather?!?!?

Fun in the Mountains

We just got home from Gatlinburg, TN. Our whole church staff went there for a conference. Jon and I enjoyed getting away from the boys and being with adults for a change.

I am beyond excited about where God has placed our family. Crosspointe is an AMAZING church and I am just thankful that we get to be a part of what God is doing there.

We had alot of fun just hanging out with everyone and had a nice relaxing time.

Colton is very into the movie Herbie, Fully Loaded and there was a Herbie on the street so Jon and I had to take a picture with it. Colt got very excited when he saw it!!

No fever!?!?!?

Well, I went to bed last night with a 100 degree fever and woke up to a 98.7! I am scared that it was a fluke but I have been fine all day. I am very weak but feel better.

I am still coughing and sneezing but the body aches are gone and I do not have a fever. While the guys were at church I washed my sheets and so that makes me feel clean.

I am still in my room just to be sure its gone. I am praying its over and that I can gain my strength back. Just taking a shower about put me over the edge.

Jon and I leave for a conference on Wednesday so I pray that I will be 100% and that Jon does not end up getting it.

Still have the flu...

I am sitting here in bed, where I have been since Thursday and I am sick of being sick. Everytime I take my temp I pray that it is gone and its still there.

The chills and body aches are terrible!!!! There is really nothing you can do for it except drink lots of water and wait it out.

I am sick of my house and my bedroom and I am tired of hearing all my boys out in the living room and not being able to play with them. It breaks my heart when Colt is banging on the door yelling, Momma!!!! I want so badly to go grab him and give him the biggest kiss...Jon would die!!

My husband has been amazing through all of this. He took the boys to his parents house today just to get out of our house but made me promise to not leave my room and if I did to remember what I touched so he could clean it when he got home.

Fever Free

Well Cooper has been fever free since Wednesday afternoon and will be going to school tomorrow. Both sets of grandparents are coming to eat lunch with him at school.

I think it is pretty cool that my children have all 4 grandparents that are very involved with their lives. I only started out with 3 grandparents and none of them lived around here. It is something that Jon and I should never take for granted.

Enough of the boys....I am not sick! Wednesday night I had a low fever and was just hoping that I was just exhaused from taking care of the kids.

Thursday it was higher and my body ached so bad. It hurt to move and I knew that I had the flu. Jon immediately began spraying lysol and wiping down everything he thought I had touched.

Hoping it wouldn't last very long I settled into bed to sleep it off...or I was sent to my room and told not to come out until it was gone :) I love my husband!

FLU

So today I took the boys to Dr.Bubba and they tested positive for the flu!

I am guessing Cooper got it from school and brought it home! Lovely! But the good news was that the Doctor said he had not seen many parents get it. It was mainly hitting the kids. Good thing b/c I was being coughed and sneezed on all day long.

This afternoon Coopers temp went up real high again with the chills and all. He was so pitiful looking and was upset b/c he didn't really know what was going on with his body.

We are hoping he can go to school on Friday for Grandparents Day. We shall see...

High Fever

Well, we have been at home now since Friday night and Cooper has had a fever off and on. Sunday we did not go to church and I was getting upset b/c he was just as wild as normal. So Sunday night he didn't have a fever so we were going to send him to school today.

Well, I went for a run this morning and came home to a crazy house. Jon had been up w/ the boys since I had left. Colton had gotten sick in his bed and needed a bath. Jon had made Coop's lunch and was trying to get him ready for school. So when I got home I started getting his clothes on him and he felt warm so I took his temp. It was 99.4. Man, he can't go to school. So we put his pj's back on and try to relax.

He was fine till about 3:00. He breaks out with this 103 degree fever with chills and gets very pale. I was very nervous and didn't really know what was going on. Jon was in Staff meeting so I couldn't even talk to him.

He was in bad shape that night and I had talked with a nurse off and on and they told me that he needed to be seen on Tuesday...

Friday, September 11, 2009

Just the beginning...

Today when Cooper got home from school the whole family loaded up and went to Walmart. On our way home I turned around and looked at Cooper and he just didn't look right. He was acting fine but I told Jon that I was gonna check his temp when we got home. Well he had a 100 degree fever.

I love Fall!

I love the change of seasons, espically when it starts to cool off!! I will admit that I love cold weather. I love the beach also but I would much rather be cold than hot.

Fall brings a refreshing desire to be outside with the boys and to just sit and read a book with the windows open while the cool breeze blows in! I love it!!

Fall also brings college football! We are so excited about this Saturday when Alabama has their first football game of the season. Hope it will be a good year for them!

Cooper is loving school and making friends. He is the teachers pet also. They were coloring things that were orange and his teacher went and found a basketball just for Coop to color b/c they know he loves basketball! He is a little spoiled.

Colton is enjoying having Mom all to himself these days. He is very clingy and some days are good and some are bad b/c I have no one to entertain him while I try to do housework. I cannot believe that he will be 2 years old in just 3 months!!! Time is flying by.

Jon is busy busy at the church. We love Crosspointe so much and are so thankful that God has placed us there. The church is growing alot and we are very excited about what the future holds for our church.

I am just doing the normal Mom thing, trying to get schedules adjusted to school time and all that good stuff. I am also going to be running the St.Jude Half Marathon on December 5th. I have truly fallen in love with running and it makes me very happy! Its nice to have a goal to work towards, my training offically starts Sept.28th! Would love some encouraging words!

Cooper is on a church soccer team this fall and Jon and Pastor Jim are the coaches. It will be quite a hoot I am sure but I will post some pics from his fall season of soccer.

Thats all for now...hope it won't be very long before I write again.

Mrs,Kenney, this is the school nurse...

As Colton and I were playing this morning I got a phone call that said...

"Mrs.Kenney, this is the school nurse. There is not an emergency but Cooper has fallen on the playground and cut his hand in a few places. There is blood on his shirt and shorts, do you mind bringing him some clean clothes. But bring them to the office because Ms.Katie doesn't want him to see you or he would probably want to come home."

So I grabbed some clothes and Colton and I went to the school. Colt got so excited when we pulled up, he thought it was time to get Pooper, as he calls him. So I had to try to explain to my almost 2 yr. old it wasn't time and that we would be back in a few hours.

I am not sure how many more calls I will get from the school nurse but I received my first one today and I am just glad he is ok. She said he was very brave and got a Spiderman bandaid! More stories to come I am sure...

School

Cooper had the biggest smile on his face when I got out of the car and walked to where he was standing with his teacher and the assistant. He gave me a quick hug, didn't want to look too happy to see me, then we got in the car and he talked non-stop the whole way home about what he did and how much fun he had.

He goes to Brighton Elem and their mascot is a Cardinal. That is one thing that he has been so excited about, so they took them on a tour of the school and while they were in the gym they showed them a cardinal painted on the wall. They told them his name was Kirby and Cooper raised his hand and said, thats our mascot. As he is smiling so big he says, "My teacher ran over to me and gave me a high five b/c I knew what a mascot was!!" I think that was the highlight of his day. I will post more about our schooling adventures but he had a great first day!

1st Day of School

Cooper started PreK today at Brighton Elementary School. I cannot believe he is that old. He looked so handsome today and here are a few pics of him before we left. I will write later about his experience. The pics are kind of blurry. It was foggy out.

Happy Time on the 4th

We had a great 4th of July. We had friends over and had a great time. The kids played on the water slide, ate a lot, and shot fireworks! Here are a few pics of them from that night.

Big Boy

Colton slept in a big boy bed for the first time last night. He has been flipping out of his crib and since we wanted him to live longer than a year and a half we decided it was time to put him in a big boy bed. He is in a toddler bed for now until we buy bunk beds for him and Cooper to share a room. But he went right to bed and slept all night just like normal. He did great and looks so old with his head on the pillow! Here are pics of him on it for the first time.

Happy 4th Birthday

I know I have been gone for a while and I am not really sure why but I have yet to post about Cooper's 4th Birthday! I cannot believe that my baby is 4 already.

We had a great time with him at his party and his real birthday was on a Sunday so he got to show off his button that said, I am 4 today, that flashed to all his friends!

He had a pool party this year and it was great because it was so hot outside. He got great gifts and Jon and I got him a playground for the backyard. He is just such a joy to have around the house and he has the sweetest spirit. Here are a few pics of my big guy!!

No Fear

I dropped Cooper off at a friends house so I could go out and finish getting all the stuff for his birthday party this weekend. He loves to swim and definately put on a show while he did his tricks off the diving board! I love that boy!!!!

Fun Times

We went to Destin last night to go to the Outlet Mall and we went to dinner there also. Afterwards there was a trolley that was free to ride and he took you around the mall. Here are a couple of great pics from the night. I will post more pics of our time at the beach when we get home!

We're Here!!!

We made to our Beach House Saturday about 4:30ish. It is beautiful and Jon and I are ready to buy this house! If you know us very well at all its giving us good ideas of how to put some of this into our house in Brighton :) The last thing we need is any more projects but after living here for a week it will be hard to go home to a house that needs some work. Neways....Cooper is LOVING every minute of being on the beach. He never wants to come in and is going farther and farther out into the ocean. Jon and I are having so much fun fighting the waves and we are looking forward to another day at the beach! I will be updating with pics soon! I miss my other 2 kiddos at home, Griz and Donut, but I am having the best time with my family!!!!

OREO

Everyone in our family loves Oreo's. We very rarely have them here at the house but I bought some today for dessert after dinner and the boys went crazy!!! Here are my precious sons...who went straight to the tub afterwards :)

We are READY....

We are so ready to go to the beach! Last night we started a pile of floaties, sunscreen, bathing suits and more fun things for the beach and the boys were so excited. We are leaving Saturday morning and I cannot wait to get my feet it the sand.

Things have been busy around here lately. It feels like we are always doing something so it will be very nice to escape reality for a week. But I get to keep up my running while on vacation but that is ok because I really enjoy it. We are now running 4.6 miles and hope to be at 5 miles by the time I leave. I never knew I would love to run as much as I do now. It just feels so good!!!!

Here are a couple of pics of the boys playing with their beach things.

Sitting in their beach chairs

Had to try on their bathing suits once they saw me get them out

5K Race

Friday night I ran in my first 5K race. Stephanie and I have been training and this was our first race to ever run. Jon, the boys, and my mom were there to support me. Knowing they were at the finish line waiting on me was a great feeling! I finished 6th in my age group! I am proud of Stephanie and myself. We are a little over half way to our goal of running a 10K. Here are a few pics of the night.
